Happy New Year to All! The ALGA finished 2023 with a bang. We held our annual Christmas Brunch and co-hosted with the ALGA9. We raised $4,965 for Santa’s Helper’s and took two truckloads of toys to their headquarters. We met with the coordinator and volunteers of Santa Helper’s and got a tour of their operations. It has been a while since I last delivered presents to the church that they operate out of, or volunteered to wrap presents. Santa’s Helpers has grown leaps and bounds, and their organization is beyond impressive. They have new programs where they deliver Christmas meals to Seniors who are in need. The day we delivered they had a “Shop with a Cop” program. Children and teenagers who are in need are given a gift card to shop with a Cop, which helps to create friendships and respect for law enforcement. The coordinator told us a story of a boy who wanted to use his gift card for laundry detergent and boxer shorts because he had to wear his Dad’s and they were too big. The coordinator told him they would buy those for him and to pick something else out just for fun for himself. The boy picked out a $30 game and asked if he could donate the rest of his gift card to the other boy he was shopping with to buy a new coat because he needed one. The true meaning of Christmas! Thank you to those who donated to this local charity that serves so many in Lincoln County.
We awarded our Year-End Awards and the winners were as follows:

January to see the latest and greatest in golf, and bring back some ideas for our
upcoming golf season. Looking forward to 2024 and having a GREAT golf season.
