Welcome to Chiptember!
As the days grow shorter and the tournament season at Alto Lakes gradually draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on what has been an incredibly successful and rewarding period for our golf community. The energy and enthusiasm that marked our key tournaments—the "Snowcapper," "Kachina Doll," and the "Mama Zia"—were truly remarkable. These events did more than just bring golfers to the course; they united us in the spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie, reminding us why we love this game and this community so much.
None of this success would have been possible without the outstanding efforts of the Alto Lakes Golf Pro Shop staff. Their commitment to excellence ensured that every detail was meticulously managed, allowing each event to run as smoothly and effectively as possible(with of course some hiccups here and there). I want to extend my deepest gratitude to them for their hard work and dedication. I’m particularly thankful to Blake Malooy, our outside service manager, and his team. Their efforts, often unseen but always felt, were instrumental in making sure everything was in place, from the first tee shot to the final putt. Their professionalism and tireless work ethic have not gone unnoticed, and I am extremely proud to be part of such an incredible team.
The condition of the golf course this season has also been exceptional, thanks to the meticulous care and expertise of our Superintendent, Glenn Denny. Glenn’s dedication to maintaining the course in peak condition has been evident in every round played. The pristine fairways and well-manicured greens are a testament to his skill and hard work. I am deeply appreciative of his efforts, as they have greatly contributed to the overall enjoyment of our tournaments and daily play alike.
This year, we also saw tremendous success with our Alto Lakes Junior Development program. Watching the young golfers grow in skill and confidence has been one of the highlights of my year. These juniors are the future of our sport, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see their progress. I want to express my sincere thanks to Coach Chris Lopez for his exceptional work with these young players. His guidance and passion have been invaluable, and I am already looking forward to seeing what next year’s group will achieve.
As I look back on the challenges and triumphs of this year, I am filled with gratitude. We’ve faced numerous obstacles, yet our community has remained strong, supportive, and resilient. I am truly honored to be a part of Alto Lakes and to share in the experiences that make this such a special place. Your continued support, especially during these trying times, means more than words can express.
Although the main tournament season is winding down, there’s still plenty of golf to be played. Let’s make the most of the remaining days and enjoy every moment on the course. And remember, I’m always here if you’re looking to improve your game or if you simply want to chat. Feel free to stop by the Golf Shop anytime—I’m more than happy to help in any way I can. Here’s to finishing the season strong and looking forward to September!
Sincerely,
Patrick Espalin
