Do not get married to one club around the green. Learn to be creative around the greens. Don't just use your sand wedge or pitching wedge to pitch and chip with. Depending on the situation, you could use a Hybrid just off the green and treat it as a putter to get it running. The loft on it will pop it up and miss the fringe to roll better on the green versus using a wedge and taking the chance of blading it over the green. You can use mid-irons and get them running for longer chips. The only time you need to use a more lofted club around the green is when you are going over a bunker or have an elevated green. If the situation will allow it, the lower the better. Your misses will be better and be more consistent in getting it closer. Try it, you might like it.
