Alto Men's Golf Association (AMGA)

The AMGA is dedicated to the promotion of organized tournaments and playdays for our members. The association currently includes more than 500 active members. Membership in the AMGA is available to all male golfing members of Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club who are in good standing with the club.
The AMGA Board meets the first Tuesday of the Month at 9:00am in the Spencer Room.

AMGA Member Application:     

Fill out the online application below, click AMGA Documents button below, or obtain membership forms that are available in the Alto Office.  Membership forms should be submitted to Accounts Receivable for billing through your Alto membership account.

Mandatory Requirements to participate in the AMGA
  1. Must be 21 years of age or older.
  2. Have an AMGA golf membership in good standing.
  3. Pay the annual AMGA dues of $100 ($63.12 AMGA dues + $36.88 Sun Country Amateur Golf Association GHIN fee).
  4. Have an established GHIN handicap.

Event Schedules

AMGA Sponsors 4 Major Tournaments:

  1. AMGA Club Championship July 17-19
  2. Member-guest, Snowcapper Tournament August 7-9
  3. Member-member, Lonesome Pine Tournament on September 4-6

AMGA Sponsors 14 Play Days:

  1. Play Days are “team” events with varying 18 hole formats held on Thursday mornings, alternating between Alto Lakes and Outlaw golf courses (Kokopelli may be included) 
  2. Golfing events begin with Play Days in May and end in October, weather permitting 
  3. Reservations to participate in Play Days can be made by 10am, the Tuesday  before Play Days, at the Alto Lakes Golf Shop or online using Golf Genius
  4. All events are played in accordance with USGA amateur rules
  5. All members are encouraged to participate in Play Days
  6. Play Days are a great way to meet fellow AMGA members

  2. Board members serve a 3 year term
  3. Board membership is a great way to help shape the future of the AMGA

Snowcapper registration is around the corner.  Please mark the date of May 7; on that date we will open registration on Golf Genius at 3:00pm Mountain Time.  Again, the tournament will be based on the order in which people register.  After the tournament is full, you will be placed on a waiting list.  I am sure it will fill fast, so be ready with you and your partner’s information.  You will need to have your partner’s Name, Email, Phone Number, Shirt Size, GHIN, course affiliation, and course phone number.  We will be sending out more information about registration and the tournament by email and eblasts.

March is already here, and with it comes strong winds and warmer weather. The Golf Calendar is out and posted on the AMGA website and Golf Genius. 
 
Some important dates to remember: Club Championship on July 17-19; Snowcapper is August 7-9, and Lonesome Pine will be September 4-6.  As registration gets closer for these events, members will be notified by email as to when registration will begin.  So again, please make sure you have the correct email address on file with the club and with the AMGA at the following address:

WOW! January has flown by; before you know it, summer will be here.  Last month I told you the AMGA was working on getting out the playday schedule.  It has now been posted on the website and Golf Genius.

I want to remind everyone that Golf Genius is the preferred communication tool going forward.  There is a phone app that you can download from the App Store if you don’t already have it, or from a tablet or laptop you can access the site through: www.golfgenius.com, and enter AMGA in the ggid for log in.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends and are ready for the new year.  Your AMGA will be busy in January working on budgets, tournaments, play day formats, and some other events to be announced.  The website has been updated with dates; after our January meeting, we will update again with play day formats.
