Hello, Alto members!! July was a bit challenging for us all as we try to get back to some normalcy. I think we have all felt the uneasiness and sadness that has come with further devastation from the fires, and now flooding. Living here all my life, I have never seen anything more heartbreaking. But our community is so strong and close-knit that I know we will bounce back. I have seen so much love and compassion from so many people, even outsiders. We must continue to be considerate and patient as we all work through this. Lots of changes are taking place and we have to remember to be kind, helpful and encouraging. The fitness center is still going strong and has been a wonderful outlet for everyone. The weather has been an issue, but we hope that with everything we have learned this year, it being our first, that we can adjust and make some changes to make it even better next year.
We are always open to constructive suggestions, so feel free to email us or visit with us any time. Our incredible instructors have some specialty modalities that they offer that might be very helpful to combat some of the stress and anxiety that we all feel right now. Self-care is very important for all of us and will make a big difference in how we feel. Please take advantage of these specialties. It would be a great gift to give to someone you know who might need it. As most of you know, the outdoor pool hours will be changing on August 5th as we head towards the end of the season. They are as follows:

Raindrop Therapy Massage & Foot detox
Raindrop Therapy - During a raindrop therapy massage, undiluted therapeutic grade essential oils are dropped like rain drops on the back along the spine. With gentle massage and light strokes, the essential oils get dispersed in the entire body through the nervous system. Apart from dropping raindrop therapy oils on the back at the height of six inches, essential oils are also applied to the feet. The technique ‘vita flex’ that is applied in raindrop therapy is a therapeutic technique adapted from acupuncture, acupressure, and reflexology. Applying essential oils on the vital flex spinal points on the feet helps to remove toxins that are released during raindrop therapy. The essential oils used in raindrop technique infuse into the skin and nourish the skin and hydrate the body. Apart from rejuvenating the skin, essential oils help to align the spine by means of detoxification.
· Raindrop therapy is used to alleviate pain, illnesses, and vertebral weakness caused by spinal inflammations.
· Spinal curvatures like scoliosis can also be corrected using raindrop therapy massage.
· Raindrop therapy is believed to strengthen the immune system and improve metabolism.
Raindrop therapy also helps to relieve tension, boost energy levels, and enhance general wellness.
Ionic Foot Detox - An ionic foot detox works by pulling toxins out of your body through your feet. It is a safe and relaxing way to clear out the body, the ionizing machine ionizes the foot bath water. This process is said to give the hydrogen in the water a positive charge, which attracts the negatively charged toxins in your body. The ions in the foot bath water supposedly hold a charge that enables them to bind to any heavy metals and toxins in your body, similar to how a magnet works. This allows the toxins to be pulled out through the bottoms of your feet.
