Alto Lakes: World Class Golf

Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club is very fortunate to own two of the premier golf courses in the Southwest United States. Daily tee times are available for Alto (in season) from 6:30AM until 7:00PM, and for Outlaw from 7:00AM until 6:00PM. Tee times are accessible through Foretees, in person, or by phone: Alto 575-336-4232 and Outlaw 575-336-3150. Tee times are taken 2 weeks ahead of time and open for reservation at 4:00 PM. Alto Lakes Golf & CC is the premier golf destination in the Southwest and, one of the best values in golf anywhere in the world.

Club History

Alto Lakes' front nine was built in 1966 when the club was founded and the back nine was completed a couple of years later. The front nine is a friendly nine, predominately up on the mesa. The back nine is more mountainous in terrain and is one of the toughest nine holes in the state. Alto's playing surfaces are Bent Grass on the greens, with Kentucky Bluegrass tees, fairways and rough.

The Outlaw at Alto Lakes was built in 2008 and acquired by Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in 2011. Designed by John LaFoy of South Carolina, it is quickly assuming its place as one of the finest and most scenic golf courses in the entire Southwest. Outlaw's playing surfaces are A-1/A-4 Bentgrass greens and tees, with Kentucky Bluegrass fairways and roughs. Native area at the Outlaw are made up of the native grasses of New Mexico.

Amenities

Both locations offer complete professional amenities you would expect, and are both open for year round play (weather permitting). Golf members at Alto Lakes enjoy the driving ranges, golf shops, professional instruction, a complete tournament program run by the respective associations at both facilities in addition to the spectacular vistas and cool summer weather for which this area is known. Alto Golf Associations include the Alto Mens Golf AssociationAlto Ladies Golf Association, and Alto Ladies 9 hole Golf Association.

Guest Rules and Fees

Members are allowed to bring guests to play with them at any time of the year for both courses. Members are also permitted to 5 guest letters per year which are valid for 7 consecutive days. Unaccompanied guests are allowed to play as long as a guest letter is on file with the club office and golf shop. Guest fees apply.

Unaccompanied guests are limited to play after 2:00PM between Memorial Day and Labor Day inclusive of those weekends, and tee times may not be made until the day before play is desired.

Dress Code

Dress Codes at both facilities are collared shirts for men (mock necks need to be 1 inch or longer), and mid-thigh or longer shorts for both men and women. "Workout" type clothing, bike shorts, or short shorts and the like are not allowed. Any questions as to the attire can be answered by the golf shop staff at either golf course.
