Greetings! February brought even more snow, and we’ve had many days of closure due to this. As we all know, moisture is precious if we can keep this wind down! The PGA show in Orlando last month was very beneficial and busy! It was good to see attendance well up from last year. That being said, you will see some new looks this year in apparel, equipment, and game technology. I am excited for what we have coming in this year, and I think you will be, too. We are in the process of lining up our season of fitting days as we speak. All of these, with various vendors, will range from June – August. Correspondence will go for each day by way of email blasts as they near.
TOURNAMENT CALENDAR COMPLETE: The ALGCC Board of Directors has approved the 2023 tournament calendar; it is on the clubs website for viewing here. The calendar has every club event, including all Association events, club-run events, and other events. Individual Association information (AL9GA, ALGA, AMGA) will go out separately soon with other specific information as it relates to formats, registration, etc. This will include all registration information on Golf Genius, as well. You will have access to the entire ALGCC Tournament Hub on one portal (or website). All of this information will be on the club website very shortly. Navigation will be as simple as one specific link where you can explore all the tournaments as well as the specific Association pages.
CART AND GREEN FEES INCREASE: The ALGCC cart and guest Green fee schedule will reflect an increase starting in the fiscal year 2023-2024. This increase was motioned by the Golf and Greens Commission and approved by the Board of Directors. No one likes a price increase, but this has not been done in 7 years. We felt the need to align our cart and guest Green fee structure appropriately with other clubs. We have also developed a program for a prepaid club cart option. This option is for those who do not utilize the private cart trail fee; you can pay an up-front prepaid club cart fee for the fiscal year. For those of you who play at least 45 rounds a year, it is a “no-brainer.” This fee is a one-time annual fee and is not pro-rated (other than to brand new members). You can find the new fee schedule on the club website, here.
COMBINATION TEES COMPLETE: We have designed a BLUE/WHITE and WHITE/GOLD combo tee. These have been rated and sloped, as well. However, they will not be unveiled until we are using our new front nine tee boxes at Alto. With this project comes a new scorecard, which you will see soon. We cannot update these with the USGA until we are playing.
HOLE-IN-ONE REPORT: We have no holes-in-one to report.
Are you in the Hole-in-One Club? If you are interested, please contact Charisse Wadsworth at [email protected]. The program costs $5 per person and reloads each time a Hole-in-One participant makes a hole-in-one. Each Golf Shop has a simple form to fill out should you have one. Inquire at either Golf Shop for the form.
We’re glad you’re here.
Sincerely,
John Rogers, PGA
