Greetings and Happy Holidays:
Well, as we know there’s a month left in this year, just like that! As I write this (11/19), the course has been blessed this morning with about four inches of snow! Moisture is always good. We have sure had days of severe cold temperatures as Winter has arrived. As another season comes to close, we look forward to the next in 2023! We are working on the event calendar as we speak, which should be completed, approved, and published shortly after the first of the year. We are excited to operate in course normalcy playing from our new front nine tee boxes, as well as warming up on our new practice range, which should be ready to go in the Spring! It will sure be nice to play tournaments in these conditions.
Hopefully you were able to take advantage of our Black Friday Weekend Sale. We were able to bring in some great Winter wear for sale, as well as showcase some great deals on other apparel and late season equipment. On another note, we were pretty lucky this year to have been able to keep our shops well-stocked with merchandise. We hope to follow the same model in 2023. As always, look for some of the same great brands that you all love, along with some “new looks” as we strive to stay on the cutting edge of products to service our members and guests. I will be travelling to the Orlando PGA Merchandise Show in late January to buy for the Summer and Fall. Overall, both golf shops had a tremendously successful year, and thanks to you and your guests for help making that happen; there’s no doubt you are great shoppers! In addition, I give a special shout out to my entire staff for creating the atmosphere in both shops for this to happen. Elizabeth has transitioned very nicely into her new role as Golf Shop Merchandise Manager. She has a knack for creativity in merchandising, displays, leadership, and obviously selling!
GOLF SHOP CREDIT MUST BE SPENT: As it is an even year, all credit book balances must be spent by December 31, 2022. YOU CAN SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS IF WE DO NOT HAVE WHAT YOU WANT IN STOCK.
HOUSEKEEPING ISSUES: I have mentioned this before and I need to touch on it again. For those of you who smoke PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE properly dispose of your PROPERLY EXTINGUISHED cigarette or cigar butts. We have been getting many reports of these being left on the property of our facility, including the golf course. This is called littering! Yes, we do sell cigars in our golf shops as a service to you. However, it’s common sense NOT to be a litterbug. Consider this parallel to repairing your ball marks (and others if you see them). Please take the few seconds to help keep our club beautiful! If we all do it, we will have no issues.
HOLE IN ONE REPORT: We have just one Hole in One to report for November. On November 17th, Les “Doc” Morrow aced #3 at Alto with a pitching wedge. He was witnessed by Johnny Knorr and Don Mayberry. Hey, Doc, great shot!
Are you in the Hole-in-One Club? If you are interested, please contact Charisse Wadsworth at [email protected]. The program costs $5 per person and reloads each time a hole-in-one participant makes a hole-in-one. Each golf shop has a simple form to fill out should you have one. Inquire at either golf shop for the form.
